I think Dr. Nirav Shah should replace Graham Platner in the U.S. Senate race.

I think Gov. Janet Mills is too old and Secretary of State Shenna Bellows is a little too quiet. As far as Troy Jackson goes, I don’t think I can spend years listening to another Aroostook County politician with a very annoying voice. I am from Aroostook, and my personal experience of Jackson is that he is not at all a good listener, a necessary trait for my senator.

I believe Shah is rational and has something we need in Congress — actual expertise. He is very well spoken, not just in form but also in content.

Let’s not forget that Shah was the leading vote-getter in the Democratic gubernatorial primary prior to the rank-choice tabulation kicking in. Let’s also not forget the “agreement” between Hannah Pingree, Jackson and Bellows to back each other in the ranked-choice voting, apparently as suggested by Platner. Fruit of the poison tree?

Do I wish Shah was farther left, more progressive? Yes, I do. However, the priority for me is to defeat Sen. Susan Collins. I think Shah has the best chance of doing that.
