A Howland man died Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash on I-95 in Edinburg, according to Maine State Police.
Bruce Ireland, 61, was driving north near mile marker 210 at approximately 7:50 p.m. when his 2012 Honda Accord left the road at a high rate of speed and entered a wooded median, police said.
Ireland, who was not wearing a seat belt, was found dead inside the vehicle.
Preliminary findings indicate Ireland was driving on wet roads at the time of the crash. Traffic was reduced to one lane for about three hours. Howland Fire and Robinson’s Towing assisted state police at the scene.
