I believe Maine’s vote in the recent Democratic primary was not a vote for a person. I think it was a vote for a “movement.” A movement to elect candidates that speak for the working class of Maine.
Bernie Sanders endorsed Troy Jackson and Graham Platner, a Maine logger and a Maine oyster farmer. They spoke for me, a 44-year production potter in Maine making dinnerware.
Chief among my concerns was healthcare, childcare, housing, paying my bills, tax fairness, and candidates of the billionaires or political establishment that buy our elections.
With a well-established campaign, Troy Jackson is moving ahead. I attended the Blue Hill Democratic Committee meeting at our local library on July 10. I joined the unofficial straw poll to reaffirm my commitment to the working class movement and to support Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate.
