This is to say “thank you” to Secretary of State Shenna Bellows for her good and brave work. For all of us in Maine. And for everybody in the U.S. By joining the national effort to preserve good government and free and fair elections, in these parlous times.
Bellows’ first run for the U.S. Senate was the first campaign I volunteered on when I moved to Maine. I have followed, and been grateful for, her work ever since. And I ranked her first in this year’s primary.
I’d also like to thank Shenna Bellows for now withdrawing from the Senate race. I believe she is correct. At this moment, and throughout the coming months, I think we need her most here at home. Leading her team — no matter the undue pressure and unprecedented threat — in the work they all do so very well. Especially as we go into this most important and very fraught 2026 election.
