A fire broke out in a child’s bedroom in Oakland early Sunday morning.
The blaze began inside a child’s second-floor bedroom at the Libby Hill Road home about 1 a.m., according to Maj. Aaron Turcotte, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The second floor was significantly damaged in the fire, Turcotte said Sunday evening.
Five children and two adults were inside when the fire broke out, but they escaped without injury.
The fire remains under investigation.
