Happy Monday. It looks like the weekend’s perfect Maine summer weather is sticking around through at least Tuesday, with highs reaching into the 80s, calm winds and tolerable humidity.
He bought his Bangor home 10 hours after it hit the market
One of Bangor’s newest homeowners put in a successful offer on his house just 10 hours after it hit the market, ending a months-long search that highlights the competitiveness of the Maine housing market.
Harland Newman and his two young children began moving into their new three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Bangor’s Tree Streets neighborhood in June, the same day he closed on the property.
The purchase helped him dodge his third rent increase in two years, which would have made it even harder for him — as it does for so many other Mainers looking for homes — to save for a house.
