A dog was rescued from a Trenton house fire Monday morning.
The fire broke out at the Baxters Ledge Road home about 4:49 a.m., according to the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames that had extended to the roof.
Crews from Ellsworth, Lamoine and other Down East communities joined the battle to put out the blaze.
Firefighters rescued the family’s dog, which was uninjured.
The fire remains under investigation.
