MACHIAS — The Machias Wild Blueberry Festival is celebrating 50 years, and you’re invited to join the fun Aug. 14-16 in beautiful downtown Machias, Maine! Celebrate half a century of Maine’s sweetest tradition with three days of food, music, family fun and community spirit.
Saturday, Aug. 15 is packed with festival favorites, including the Five Mile Road Race, the always-entertaining Blueberry Pie Eating Contest, an all-day Fish Fry, more than 250 arts, crafts and food vendors, a delicious Blueberry Dessert Buffet and guided Blueberry Farm Tours.
To make your visit easy, a FREE shuttle service will run throughout Saturday from the parking lots on Prescott Drive (The Career Center) in Machias to downtown and all festival activities.
The celebration continues on Sunday, Aug. 16. Vendors will be open until 3 p.m. and everyone is welcome to a Celebratory Worship Service at 10 a.m. at Centre Street Congregational Church.
Then cap off the festival at 6 p.m. with a FREE community concert featuring American Idol finalist Julia Gagnon Haven! Food trucks will be open, so bring someone special and make it a perfect date night with dinner and an unforgettable concert.
