Interstate 95 will be reduced to one lane in Hampden for bridge work.
Crews have begun a painting project for the bridge carrying Cold Brook Road over I-95, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.
Drivers will encounter one lane for traffic on both the north- and southbound sides of the highway from mile marker 179 to 181 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the department said Tuesday.
Farther down I-95 in Plymouth, crews also are painting the bridge carrying Route 7 over the highway, which will be reduced to one lane from mile marker 160 to 162 on both the north- and southbound sides.
This work is meant to increase the lifespan of both bridges.
The work is expected to wrap up by December.
The nearly $1.2 million contract was awarded to Royal Bridge Inc. of Palm Harbor, Florida.
