The train derailment in Orono has been cleared.
The Orono town government announced Wednesday morning that the derailment cleanup is completed and is now awaiting the results of the Federal Railroad Administration’s investigation.
“To ensure a thorough and accurate review, official findings are not expected to be released for some time,” the town said.
CSX is repairing the tracks and rail service is expected to resume this week.
The 32-car train was traveling through Orono, near the Penobscot County Country Club, about 4:35 p.m. Saturday when 13 of its cars went off the track.
No spills or leaks were reported.
