ADDISON — The Indian River Community Association is inviting the community to a series of special August and September events (https://www.ircaaddison.org/events-2-1) at the River House, its historic former church at 1432 Indian River Road in Addison.
The events are part of the association’s effort to raise funds for the restoration of the building’s roof and preserve the River House as a gathering place for future generations.
The River House will host a series of intimate live music performances:
• Friday, Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. — George Davis & Friends
• Friday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. — Mulled Cider, featuring Lizzie Cunningham, Tony Kertis and Brian Dyer Stewart
• Saturday, Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. — Jackson Stein, Sea Shanty Singalong
• Saturday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. — Lenore and Brian & Rebel Daughter
A suggested donation of $20 will help support the restoration of the River House roof.
These events are about more than raising money for repairs. The Indian River Community Association hopes to preserve this historic building while bringing it back to life as a place for music, local history, gatherings and community activities in Addison and the surrounding Downeast communities.
