A woman died Monday after the motorcycle she was on collided with a commercial truck in Westbrook.

The 41-year-old woman from French Polynesia was a passenger on a trike motorcycle about 12:41 p.m. when it collided with the commercial truck, driven by a 37-year-old East Waterboro man, at the intersection of Saco Street and Eisenhower Drive, according to the Westbrook Police Department.

The woman, who was in Maine visiting family, and the motorcycle’s operator, a 59-year-old Windham woman, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Westbrook police said Wednesday morning.

The 41-year-old died at the hospital. The other woman’s injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.

The truck’s driver wasn’t injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
