OWLS HEAD — The Owls Head Transportation Museum will kick off the 48th Annual New England Auto Auction weekend with the Rev It Up Party from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20. The evening offers a relaxed, family-friendly way to experience the excitement of auction weekend before the bidding begins Friday and Saturday.
Whether attending as a bidder, consignor, automotive enthusiast or simply looking for a fun summer evening, guests are invited to enjoy live entertainment, food, lawn games and a first look at the vehicles and items featured in this year’s auction.
Live music from Champagne Cassanova will provide the soundtrack for the evening starting at 3 p.m., while Taco Joe and Yeti Boys will serve up food for hungry guests and On The Rox mobile bar will run a cash bar. Sweet treats will include ice cream from Karl’s Magnificent Model A Ice Cream Machine, along with cotton candy and popcorn from R&D LLC. A selection of lawn games with prizes will offer another way for friends and families to enjoy the evening together.
Guests can also take their time exploring the New England Auto Auction preview, getting an up-close look at the wide range of vehicles and other offerings that will cross the auction block during Friday and Saturday’s auction. The preview provides an opportunity for prospective bidders to see the collection in person, while enthusiasts and spectators can simply enjoy the history, craftsmanship and variety represented throughout the auction.
The Rev It Up Party is designed for everyone and offers a chance to experience the excitement of the New England Auto Auction before the bidding gets underway, bringing together the cars, people, and community that make auction weekend such a special part of the summer at the museum.
Admission is included with regular museum admission.
The party launches four days of New England Auto Auction activities at the museum, with the auction preview opening Wednesday, Aug. 19, followed by live auction days on Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22.
