A deputy shot a Brownfield man during a Monday confrontation.

Aric Junkins, 40, faces charges of domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence terrorizing and terrorizing, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

Junkins was allegedly chasing his wife with a gun at a Porter Road residence in Brownfield.

When police arrived, Junkins allegedly pointed the gun at deputies, and Deputy Andre Chasse shot him, according to the sheriff’s office,

Junkins was taken to Bridgton Hospital before being transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for treatment of his injuries.

Chasse has been placed on administrative leave, as is standard procedure. The Maine attorney general’s office is investigating, which is standard procedure any time law enforcement uses deadly force in the state.
