CASTINE — On Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Wilson Museum, 112 Perkins St., will host its third annual Artisan Market & Picnic. The event will showcase local and regional creators who work with traditional materials and techniques to produce original, one-of-a-kind pieces.
For more than a century, the Wilson Museum has celebrated the creativity and skills of traditional craftspeople and artisans through its collections, exhibits, and programs. Rooted in this long-standing mission, the Artisan Market & Picnic is designed to promote and support today’s fine artisans from across the Blue Hill Peninsula and beyond.
Alongside the artisan booths, a local food truck will offer lunch options, complemented by samples of fresh-baked bread from the museum’s outdoor bake oven. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket from which to enjoy lunch on the museum’s waterfront lawn while taking in views of Castine Harbor and Penobscot Bay.
