Firefighters rescued a cat and saved a home in the town of Hancock on Sunday morning.
The fire broke out in a garage on Acadia Lane about 3:37 a.m., according to the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department.
Everyone inside the home escaped the flames, but a cat was missing.
When firefighters arrived, they found the garage fully engulfed in flames. Crews worked quickly to keep the fire from extending deep into the home.
During the battle, firefighters found and rescued the cat, who, the department said, was “doing just fine.”
While the garage was a total loss, the home is “salvageable.”
No one was injured.
