Vice President JD Vance is set to visit Compotech in Brewer on Monday, his second trip to Maine this year and a stop that comes as Maine Republicans split over how closely to align with him.
Former Gov. Paul LePage, who is running to recapture the 2nd Congressional District that voted three times for Trump, is expected to join Vance. But U.S. Sen. Susan Collins will not, and Bobby Charles, the party’s nominee for governor, told the Portland Press Herald he is skipping the event in a Democratic-leaning general election.
We will be running live updates throughout the day as Vance’s visit unfolds and Maine’s political players weigh in. Follow along below.
