A man has been arrested in the Old Town assault that left a woman with severe injuries Thursday.
Nathan Lagasse, 27, was booked early Friday morning on charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping and obstructing justice, according to the Penobscot County Jail.
CBS affiliate WABI reported that Lagasse was arrested in the assault, but details about where he was arrested weren’t available early Friday morning.
The woman was assaulted on Poplar Street before her attacker fled in a vehicle. She was left with severe but not life-threatening injuries.
That prompted a manhunt, with Old Town police getting help from the Maine State Police and the Maine Forest Service as officers combed the woods for the suspect.
