The woman killed in last week’s hit-and-run crash in Portland has been identified.
Nichele Roakes, 57, of Portland was crossing Forest Avenue, near the Riverside Hannaford, about 9:18 p.m. on Aug. 24 when she was hit by a dark-colored truck, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
Her identity was made public Monday.
The driver fled down Forest Avenue into the heart of Portland.
The crash remains under investigation.
