A man died Wednesday morning after a shooting outside a Lewiston tavern.
The man and a woman were shot outside the Blue Goose Tavern on Sabattus Street about 12:58 a.m., according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Both victims were taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where the man succumbed to his injuries. The woman was treated and later released.
A suspect has been identified and is cooperating with police, Moss said early Wednesday afternoon.
The male victim was taken to the Maine medical examiner’s office in Augusta to determine his cause and manner of death. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
