Three people are running for two seats on Bucksport’s town council this fall.
At least one of the candidates will bring a new face to the five-member council, as councilor Tracey Hair is not running for reelection after serving one term. Nomination papers were due to the town Thursday evening.
Jon Goss, Ralph Chapman and incumbent Mark Eastman, currently the town’s deputy mayor who was first elected in 2017, will face off for the seats, which each carry three-year terms.
Hair cited personal and professional changes for not running again in a statement last month, according to the River Observer.
Two positions on the RSU 25 school board are also up for reelection this year, and neither race will be contested. Jayme Grandmaison and incumbent Abigail Foster are the only two candidates for the three-year terms. Tom Foster, who currently chairs the board, isn’t running for reelection.
Elections will be held Nov. 3 at the G.H. Jewett School.
