A 35-acre estate in Kennebunkport’s historic district topped the list of the most expensive homes to sell in Maine last month.
We found the 10 most expensive residential property sales that took place across the state in August using information from state transfer tax documents, which are available to the public online.
The priciest home sales range from roughly $5 million to slightly less than $3 million and the majority of the properties are based around southern and coastal Maine. One home, however, is located on Main Street in Bangor.
But residential properties did not fetch the highest prices on the market, as commercial properties sold for far more, tax records show. Seacoast Resort, a seasonal mobile home park in Old Orchard Beach, sold for a whopping $21 million on Aug. 13.

— 63 North St. in Kennebunkport sold on Aug. 31 for $5.2 million.
— 58 Beaumont Drive in Naples sold on Aug. 13 for $4.4 million.
— 31 Hutchins Road in Raymond sold on Aug. 21 for $4.2 million.
— 22 Cragmoor Lane in Harpswell sold on Aug. 21 for $3.8 million.
— 585 Main St. in Bangor sold on Aug. 31 for $3.5 million.
— 109 Foreside Road in Falmouth sold on Aug. 24 for $3.5 million.
— 25 Sea St. in Camden sold on Aug. 7 for $3 million.
— 149 & 154 Whites Point Road in Standish sold on Aug. 27 for $3 million.
— 52 Wharf Road in Yarmouth sold on Aug. 10 for $2.8 million.
— 10 Sunny Bank Road in Cape Elizabeth sold on Aug. 28 for $2.8 million.
