A New Sharon duo has been nabbed in the August burglary of a Farmington veterinarian office.
Tasha Allen, 35, has been charged with burglary, stealing drugs, unlawful drug possession and violating her conditions of release, while Joshua Allen, 41, has been charged with burglary, stealing drugs and violating his conditions of release, according to the Farmington Police Department.
The Allens allegedly broke into Falls Road Veterinary Clinic on Farmington Falls Road on the night of Aug. 27 and stole numerous medications, in both pill and liquid form.
Among the drugs they stole was Euthasol, a powerful drug containing phenobarbital used to euthanize animals, Farmington police said shortly after the burglary.
Phenobarbital acts on the central nervous system. Symptoms include blurred vision, confusion, dizziness, weakness and tiredness, or less commonly chest pain, nausea, trouble breathing and coma, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The drug can produce dependency and strong withdrawal symptoms.
While officers recovered some of the drugs, a “significant quantity” is unaccounted for, Farmington police said Tuesday.
