I am a Democrat, retired Navy, retired truck driver and concerned voter. I believe we, as residents of Maine who have been harassed by a president who has anything but our best interest in mind, need to come together in November and get rid of all of the politicians that have enabled him to ruin our democracy.
Everyday I receive text and emails for more money to fight what I consider the evil forces that are the MAGA Trump Republicans. I see ads running steadily about our party’s candidate for U.S. Senate with half truths or outright lies. Everyone involved claims more money is the answer.
What we need is to show up, in huge numbers, on voting day and show these followers of a wanna-be dictator the door.
This doesn’t take money. It takes effort. If you want freedom and don’t vote you are part of the problem. Stand up, get to the polls and defend the liberties our ancestors gave their lives to defend or watch our freedoms flow peacefully down the drain.
I am not going to give anymore of my badly needed money to rid our democracy of a tyrant. If we cannot oust these corrupt politicians this time, then I fear we are the country we have become. We will rapidly become a place the rest of the world doesn’t want to visit or do business with. Right now we are getting the benefit of the doubt. The world is waiting for us to fix this.
