A Lisbon man faces drug trafficking charges after he allegedly crashed into a construction vehicle Wednesday night.

Demetrius Starks, 45, has been charged with aggravated cocaine trafficking, aggravated fentanyl trafficking, unlawful cocaine possession, unlawful fentanyl possession, illegal possession of a firearm, operating under the influence, criminal mischief and driving to endanger, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Starks was driving a black BMW near the intersection of Court Street and Minot Avenue in Auburn about 11:36 p.m. when he allegedly went over the median, through a sign and crashed into a construction vehicle.

He suffered minor injuries in the crash, Auburn police said Thursday afternoon.

Starks was suspected of being under the influence of drugs, and a subsequent search of his sedan turned up 1.26 ounces of cocaine, a third of an ounce of fentanyl and a loaded .40-caliber pistol, according to the Auburn police.

Starks was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.
