I have the privilege of knowing Amy Roeder not only as a great friend and neighbor, but also as my state representative for House District 23. I have seen firsthand the kind of legislator she is: thoughtful, hardworking, accessible, and focused on getting things done for the people she serves.

Now, as Amy runs for the Maine state Senate, her record matters. At a time when affordability is on everyone’s mind, Amy has worked on the issues that hit closest to home. As a leader on the Legislature’s Labor and Housing Committee, she helped advance LD 2003 to remove unnecessary zoning barriers and create more housing opportunities across Maine. She supported state investments in public education and municipalities that help ease pressure on local property taxpayers, and she supported LD 874 to protect essential workers from the financial hardship of missed paychecks during a government shutdown.

What I appreciate most about Amy is that she understands these aren’t simply bills and numbers. They’re about whether our neighbors can afford a home, pay their property taxes, heat their house, fill a prescription, or make a paycheck stretch far enough.

Amy shows up, she listens, and she works hard for Bangor. I know her personally, and I know how seriously she takes public service. I am proud to have had her represent me in the Maine House, and I’m proud to support her as she runs for the Maine Senate. Please join me on Nov. 3!
