The woman who died after a Wednesday evening collision in Plymouth has been identified.
Kendall Thompson, 67, of Dixmont was driving a Chrysler sedan east on Moosehead Trail about 6:39 p.m. when a Hyundai Santa Cruz driven by 69-year-old Timothy Malo of Newport crossed the centerline and the two vehicles collided, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash sent both vehicles off the road and into Plymouth Pond, the sheriff’s office said.
Thompson was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. His passenger, a 68-year-old Patricia Thompson of Dixmont, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Malo was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation, including whether charges will be filed.
