I am writing in support of Ester Franklin for Maine Senate in District 3 (Benton, Canaan, Clinton, Detroit, Dixmont, Etna, Madison, Newport, Norridgewock, Palmyra, Pittsfield, Plymouth, Skowhegan, Stetson, Unity Township).

Ester grew up in Brighton Plantation and attended local public schools. She has numerous ties to the people and communities of Central Maine. Over the course of 25 years, she earned three degrees (bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate) in human services, one paycheck at a time. She is a Skowhegan resident who wears many hats — and wears them well — as district lead in school-based counseling, in her part-time private counseling practice and in real estate.

Ester is energetic, listens well, is organized and gets things done. These are all great qualities for public service. Her main focus is health care, housing and utility costs.

During these troubling times for our families, our communities and our nation, we need people like Ester Franklin, who is so adept at listening long and extensively. She works well with others and will work for all our interests and concerns. She cares deeply about the working people of central Maine and wants to hear from them about how she can best support and represent them in Augusta.

Please give Ester a chance and your vote on Nov. 3.
