A man accused of a fatal shooting made his first appearance in court Tuesday.

Jeremy Stevens, 46, of Indian Township is charged with intentional or knowing murder in Washington County. He’s accused of fatally shooting Cory Fields, 41, on Saturday on Peter Dana Point Road on the Passamaquoddy reservation.

He did not enter a plea, which is standard in felony cases. The case will be presented to a grand jury, which will decide whether or not to indict Stevens on the charge.

Stevens will have a bail hearing on Monday. He is held in the Washington County Jail on a probation violation.
