As we approach the much-anticipated midterm election, I become increasingly dumbfounded that Susan Collins and most other Republicans have not directly spoken out about the grift and corruption in the Trump administration and family that we frequently read about from credible journalists. Sure, Collins and others have sought to distance themselves from President Donald Trump, but I have not seen any come right out and directly condemn Trump for what he has brought on our country, how he has single-handedly diminished the leadership and credibility of the United States of America as he aligns with Vladimir Putin. For Republicans to stand by and not denounce Trump implies, I believe, their acceptance of his behavior.
The race for the U.S. Senate between Collins and Troy Jackson is reportedly very close (not for me, I’ve already voted for Troy). I have no insight into the ultimate outcome, but it would seem the only way that Collins might have a chance to win would be if she were to state unambiguously that if reelected she would support the impeachment, conviction, and removal from office of Donald Trump. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
