It has been my great privilege to serve the people of Belfast on the city council, representing Ward 2. During my time on the council, we have seen a great deal of progress. We finished the Harbor Walk and the Rail Trail. We built the new public works yard and brought in new low-income housing with the Wight Street and Congress Street projects.
Belfast became the first community in the Midcoast to host an official Hanukkah celebration and the first to have a Pride parade. We established our own community radio station, WBFY. I am especially proud of the city and community’s response to COVID with the creation of the Keep The Faith Fund.
I believe these achievements were made possible because we had a council that was balanced between the fresh perspective of newcomers and the experience of more veteran councilors. New ideas and approaches are vital, but so is institution knowledge.
I ask that the voters of Belfast allow me to serve another term on the council and help the city continue to make progress for all its residents.
