You‘ve probably heard of our hometown. Lincoln has been in the news a lot this year. The good news: We expect two major businesses to break ground on the old mill site next year — Biofine and Form Energy — starting us into recovery from the 2015 mill shut down. But even more likely is that you heard about us because of less positive news: We went through four town managers in less than a year, and experienced significant citizen unrest over a budget proposal that threatened to make major cuts to essential services like police, fire, and EMS.
Through it all, we believe one voice on the Lincoln Town Council consistently provided facts instead of feelings, called for moderation and reason, and reminded us that expanding the tax base is the best way to keep property taxes down. That voice belongs to Gordon Street, who is running for reelection to the Lincoln Town Council. We strongly encourage Lincoln citizens to vote for Gordon. Keep this voice of reason on the council.
More good news: Gordon is also running for the state Legislature in House District 28 (from Winn south through Lincoln, Howland, and Enfield and down to Edinburg). We think we could all use a reasonable voice like his in Augusta.
So, please, residents of Lincoln and of House District 28, join us in voting to send Gordon Street back to the town council and on to the state Legislature. Vote for Gordon Street — twice!
