Recognized for the ninth consecutive year as one of Maine’s top small employers
PORTLAND – Spinnaker Trust has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine among small employers, a designation recognizing outstanding workplaces that benefit the state’s economy, workforce and businesses.
This achievement marks the ninth consecutive year that Spinnaker Trust has earned this recognition in the small employer category, which includes organizations with 15 to 99 U.S. employees. Based in Portland, Spinnaker has a team of more than 40 professionals.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Spinnaker has grown from a six-person boutique firm into a team serving individuals, families, institutions and businesses, including ESOP companies, across Maine and beyond. The firm has remained locally owned and independent since its founding in 2001.

Best Places to Work in Maine is a survey competition that identifies and recognizes the state’s best employers across small, medium and large employer categories. Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great workplaces, manages the survey and assessment process.
Honorees are selected through a two-part process: an evaluation of each company’s benefits, workplace policies, practices and other organizational information, worth 25% of the score, and a confidential employee survey evaluating the workplace experience, worth 75%. The combined scores determine the final rankings.
