Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner is headlining a Friday rally in Bar Harbor alongside two other candidates on Maine’s Tuesday ballot and California Rep. Ro Khanna.

Platner’s campaign faces increasing skepticism from the party establishment after The New York Times reported that three women he had relationships with accused him of toxic behavior, with one alleging instances of physical intimidation that he denied. It followed the weekend disclosure of sexually explicit messages he sent to women early in his marriage.

He is still expected to win Tuesday’s primary election for the right to face Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in November, saying in a Friday interview with Maine Public that nobody within the state or national parties had asked him to drop out of the race.

Platner will be speaking at the 7 p.m. event at the Criterion Theatre alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate Troy Jackson, 2nd District candidate Matt Dunlap and Khanna, a progressive who has said he is considering a 2028 run for president.
