FORT FAIRFIELD – Anna F. “Dolly” McLaughlin, 89, wife of the late Donald A. McLaughlin Sr., passed away Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2008, at a Caribou nursing facility, after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of James D. and Margaret (Dyer) Locke. She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield school system, was married to Donald A. McLaughlin and was a life member of Daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle No. 427, Fort Fairfield. Dolly was a sales consultant for Amway, Avon and Sarah Coventry Jewelry for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McLaughlin was predeceased by her husband, Donald Sr., Dec. 1, 1985; one son, James A. McLaughlin, in 2004; four brothers, Kenneth, Eugene, Glenwood and Edgar Locke; and one sister, Phyllis Cargill. She is survived by two sons, Christopher A. McLaughlin of Chesterton, Ind., and Donald A. McLaughlin Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Windsor, Conn.; one daughter, Marilyn M. McLaughlin of Niantic, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, Sally Ann Peterson, Sheila and Sarah McLaughlin, James McLaughlin Jr., Robert G., Donald C. and Bruce E. Gumm, Christopher McLaughlin Jr., Jeffery J. and Sean E. McLaughlin; numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Interment will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
