ORONO – Gloria J. Albertson died unexpectedly Aug. 20, 2008, in the arms of her loving husband at Unknown Lake in Hancock County. Gloria was born March 5, 1947, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Wendell and Velma (Hamel) Edgecomb. Gloria was married to Robert G. Albertson, July 11, 1998. Gloria was employed at the University of Maine at Orono, for 20 plus years. She retired in 2001. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved by everyone who knew her. Gloria had a passion for camping, bingo, yard sales, and spending time with her family and friends. Gloria especially loved the holidays. Gloria is survived by her husband, Robert G. Albertson of Orono; her brother, Gary Edgecomb and his wife, Linda, of Florida; her two daughters, Sandra Sechrest of Old Town, and Pam Dobson and her husband, Paul, of Greenbush; her two sons, Joseph Bouchard and wife, Martina, of Germany, and Shawn Bouchard and his wife, Carol, of Corinth; one stepson, Robert Albertson of Old Town; two stepdaughters, Rosa Collins and her husband, Sam, of Winterport, and Ravonna St. Thomas and husband, Bob, of Enfield; her 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her dearly. Calling hours will be 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Greenbush Cemetery, Route 2, Greenbush, with Alston Oliver officiating. Notes of condolences may be left at www.mem.com.
