ALICE I. (KROEMER) FAIRCHILD KASILOF, Alaska, and MILO Alice I. (Kroemer) Fairchild, 68, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, surrounded by her family and friends, at home from complications of cancer. Mrs. Fairchild was born Dec. 29, 1939, in Milo. Alice was a member of St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church, Kenai, Alaska, was also past president of the women’s auxiliary of the VFW in Billings, Mont. She was also involved in the Big Sisters Program and was an advocate and one of the founding persons of Victims for Justice. She had also received Victims for Justice highest award, the Phoenix Award. She also enjoyed painting, cross-stitching and beading. Alice was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Fairchild; sister, Nancy Hansen; brother, Rod Kroemer and his life partner, Jim, adopted daughter, Susan Russell; sisters-in-law, Marie Wynia and her husband, Dennis, and Nancy Wilkins and her husband, Butch, and Cheryl Kroemer; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, whom she considered family, Sheila and Clyde Christenson.
