WILLIAM THOMAS ‘BILL’ MCLEOD – GLENBURN – William Thomas “Bill” McLeod, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 20, 2008, wrapped in the arms of a loving family, after a long battle with cancer. Born Feb. 11, 1939, to Margaret M. Thompson McLeod and John Robert McLeod, a tidy and conscientious little fellow that grew to be a squared away young man. A marine through and through, he was so very proud to lay claim to that prestigious honor of serving the Marine Corps from May 1956 to April 1959, approaching everyday life with the same attention to thoroughness and detail. For many years, Bill had been well know and respected in the Bangor and surrounding area for his carpentry skills, as owner of McLeod Construction. Born with the gift of a wonderful sense of humor, he had brought such laughter and joy to those fortunate to be known, related to and loved by him. He was predeceased by both parents. He leaves behind a very large and saddened family, consisting of his only child, Angela Yvonne and son-in-law, Bill Rogers; four grandchildren, two great-grand-children, nine siblings, enough nieces and nephews to start their own state, along with those who have always had a very special place in his heart. We ask that you join our family and friends in a warm and happy celebration of his life 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at his home. Interment will be at Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, reach out a helping hand to a stranger or give a fine salute, Semper Fi. God Bless you our loving father, brother and dear friend.
