WARREN – Achsia Berry, 74, “Nannie” to everyone who knew her, passed away Dec. 11, 2006, at her home. She was born May 20, 1932, in Burnham, a daughter of Clarence and Vera Cookson Basford. She had lived in Warren for the past 25 years and was formerly of Pittsfield and Burnham. One of her pleasures was sharing her table and spending quality time with her family. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and visiting with friends. She loved horse racing and going to the ocean, always had a funny story to tell and had a smile that would brighten any room. She was employed by Ethan Allen, Burnham for 35 years in the office accounting department. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Berry; son, Edward Chase; brother, Kenneth Basford; sister, Jacqueline Basford. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Sidelinger and her husband, Doug, of Detroit, Maine, Denice Ingraham and her husband, Richard, of Parkman; a son, Duane Chase and his wife, Kathi, of Warren; nine grandchildren, six great-grand-children; sisters, Imogene Burke of Etna, Frannie Shepherd of Burnham and Joyce Wood of Burnham, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Hall Funeral Home and Cremation, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, with the Rev. Robin Honaker officiating.
