MOLINO, Fla. – Phyllis Hinkle, 81, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Covenant Hospice, West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Fla., after a brief stay. She was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Bangor. She moved to Molino, Fla., in 1996, to be near her family. She was an Air Force wife, mother, homemaker and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Molino, Fla., where she served as church librarian. Previously she was a lifelong member of the North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church. She did volunteer work for many years in the cancer registry at Eastern Maine Medical Center. During World War II, she worked in Washington, D.C., in the war department. She also was the librarian at Holden Consolidated School. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Roscoe Hinkle; and her parents, Agnes (Conary) and Ralph Rutherford Came. She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Sue Hinkle of Barrington, N.J., Barbara Ann Sabol of Sandown, N.H., and Carolyn Mae Parker of Molino, Fla.; her only grandchild, Charles A. Parker III. Private family services were held Thursday, Dec. 7, at Faith Chapel North, North Cantonment, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church Building Fund.
