VAN BUREN – Agnes R. Violette, 85, died unexpectedly June 13, 2008, at her residence in Cyr Plantation. She was born March 21, 1923, in Van Buren, the daughter of Jean and Alice (Madore) Laplante. She and her husband owned Valley Lanes bowling alley, Van Buren, for more than 20 years. Agnes is survived by one son, John Violette and his wife, Theresa, of Caribou; two daughters, Helen Doucette and her husband, Rick, of Cyr Plantation and Alice Violette and her husband, Peter, of Buxton; three brothers, Roger Laplante of Massachusetts, John Laplante Jr. and his wife, Rochelle, of Van Buren and Gilbert Laplante of Connecticut; five sisters, Edna Violette, Marcella Levasseur, Alice Morrow and her husband, Albert, all of Van Buren, Jeanne D’Arc Reynolds and her husband, Patrick, of Hawaii and Claire Porter and her husband, Bill, of Arizona; five grandchildren, Ryan Doucette and his wife, Robin, Vicky Dorsey and husband, E.J., Liza Doucette, Kasey Prunier and husband, Matt and Sean Violette and fiance, Andrea Govoni; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Cyr and John Edward Dorsey; a special sister-in-law, Anita LeBrun of Presque Isle; and special brother-in-law, Gilbert Violette of Van Buren. In addition to her parents, Aggie was predeceased by her husband, Romeo Violette; two brothers, Charlie and Wilfred Laplante; and one sister, Simone Soucy. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
