BREWER and BANGOR Alan R. Bullock, 79, husband of the late Stephanie (Duke) Bullock, died April 9, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Bangor, the son of Charles and Mary (Butler) Bullock. Alan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for four years. He then went to work for the Bangor Daily News, retiring after 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, target shooting and mechanical drawing. Alan was able to fix absolutely anything and could find anything at a yard sale. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela and her husband, Tony Jordan, of Bangor; two stepsons, Steven St. Louis and his wife, Ellen, of Manchester, N.H., and Richard St. Louis and his wife, Vivian, of Clifton; two granddaughters, Tara and her husband, Rick Irving, and Michelle and her husband, Donnie Poole; great-grandchildren, Donnie Jr., Shelby, Alyssa, Katrina Poole, Marcus and Lia Irving. In his final months he was well cared for by Richard and Vivian in their Clifton home with the help of hospice. We are very thankful for all of their love and compassion. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev.
