GUILFORD – Alan S. Mooers, 51, died April 22, 2005, at his home in Guilford. He was born Jan. 2, 1954, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Sherman and Alice (Straw) Mooers. Alan worked for Pride’s Manufacturing Co., as a boiler operator and later as a fixer, first in Guilford and then transferred to the Burnham plant. He was a member of the United Bikers of Maine. He is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Billie-Jo Mooers of Dexter and Adam Mooers of Guilford; a brother, Don and his wife, Ethel Higgins, of Saco; a nephew and his wife, Tim and Melanie Higgins; two nieces, Melinda McCardell and Karen Corrado and her husband, Paul. He was predeceased by his parents; and a son, Eric Mooers. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford, with the Rev. Dan Bollen officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the United Bikers of Maine Toy Run, care of Bill Judkins, 170 Ocean St., South Portland, ME 04106.
