PRESQUE ISLE and WOODLAND – Lona B. Parker, 82, died April 26, 2005, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Washburn, the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Coburn) Harris. She worked at local potato processing plants for many years. Lona was a faithful member of the Washburn Pentecostal Church, a member of the WM, and was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. Surviving her is her husband of 63 years, Merton Parker, of Presque Isle; a son, Paul and his wife, Jeanne, of Topsham; four daughters and their husbands, Lois and Jay Clark, of Houlton, Sharon and Lester Bartley, of Mars Hill, Joy and John Mooshie, of Crawfordville, Fla., Faith and Buddy Gridley, of Tallahassee Fla.; two brothers, Carlton Harris of Westfield, and Robert Harris of Shrewsbury, Pa.; three sisters, Cleo Minard of Gorham, Ruth Seward of Washburn, and Gaynel Tilley of Castle Hill; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Washburn Pentecostal Church. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Because of Lona’s heart for missions, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Washburn Pentecostal Church, 1202 Main St., Washburn, ME 04786, for Sunil Singh missionary in India. Interment will be in Riverside Ext. Cemetery, Washburn at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
