HOWLAND and NORTON, Mass. – Pauline “Polly” (Coffin) Keeler, 82, of Howland and Norton, Mass., passed away peacefully in her sleep, April 11, 2005, at Epoch Assisted Living in Norton, Mass., where she had lived since 2004. Born May 29, 1922, she was the third daughter of George and Winifred Coffin. Pauline was educated in Howland schools, graduating from Howland High School in 1939. She then attended Kent’s Hill School, where she was active in school activities including drama and graduated valedictorian of her class. She then made her home in the Boston area, where she met and married Everett B. Keeler, with whom she had three children, Kristen Redpath of Norton, Mass., Douglas of Connecticut and Deborah Keeler of Miami, Fla. After the children were grown, she and Everett moved to Cape Cod where they became actively involved in the golfing community. Polly also thoroughly enjoyed her favorite hobbies of reading, birdwatching, rug braiding, astronomy and painting. She was a member of the Mayflower Society Decendents. She became an LPN in 1972 and was involved in Hospice programs. After her husband retired, they moved to Florida where Everett passed away in 1999. They had been married for 56 years. She then moved back to Cape Cod, and then due to rapidly failing health, became a resident of Epoch Assisted Living in Norton, Mass., where she lived until she passed away. In addition to her children, Polly is survived by five grandchildren, James Redpath of Portland, Peter and Julia Spinella of Miami and Shelley and Robin Keeler of Texas; a sister, Helen Gerald of Brewer; a brother, Vernon Coffin of Walpole, Mass.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Grace (Coffin) Hawkins in Lincoln. A private funeral service for the immediate family was held in Norton following cremation.
