BANGOR – Melvin E. “Bampy” Snow, 69, died April 26, 2005, at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Hermon, the son of Alton and Madeline (Pomeroy) Snow. He was a retired carpenter, and worked for Noyes Construction for many years. Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther, whom he married Nov. 15, 2002; his loving children and their spouses, daughter, Donna and Steven Morgan, of Bowerbank, son, Franklin Sr. and Marie Lawrence of Kenduskeag, son, Bruce and Cheryl Snow of Hermon, daughter, Karen and Michael Ross of Newburgh; eight grandchildren, Paul Morgan of Snowmass Village, Colo., Franklin Lawrence Jr. of Hudson, Amy Lawrence of Brewer, Sonja and her husband, Shane Turcotte, of St. Albans, Eric Lawrence of Hudson, Adam Ross of Newburgh, Logan and Janie Snow, both of Hermon; and two great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his stepchildren who have grown to love him as a Dad, Wendall “Skip” Overlock, Robert Overlock, Estelle Kennedy, Dwight “Shorty” Overlock, Rick Overlock, Ronnie Overlock; also one brother; six sisters; and special friends, Cleveland and Nora Bemis. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; grandson, Travis Morgan, and his brother, Lewis Snow. A special heart felt thank you from our family to Cancer Care and New Hope Hospice for the care they gave Melvin. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon, with Pastor Gilbert Reed, officiating.
