DOVER-FOXCROFT – Albert G. Brawn, 60, went to join his mother March 8, 2007, surrounded by his family, while he was at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 12, 1946, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Donald and Ivie (Decker) Brawn. Bert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved old cars, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Bert is survived by his best friend and wife of 21 years, Bonnie (Thompson) Brawn; two daughters, Melissa Gould and her husband, Derek, of Dexter and Stormy Colbath and her husband, Shawn, of Exeter; three stepchildren, whom he treated and considered his own, Bill Knowles and his wife, Josie, of Dover-Foxcroft, Kristie Gould of Waldoboro, and Gary Gould and his wife, Debbie, of South Thomaston; nine grandchildren, Jason, Kyle, Daytona and Mackenzie Gould, Cody Clark, Garrett Colbath, Brea Bentley, Samantha Tozier and Harley Knowles; three brothers, Francis and his wife, Maxine, Fred and his wife, Nina, all of Dover-Foxcroft, and Dennis and his companion, Sherry, of Abbot; two sisters, Angie Levesque of Medway and Jennifer Chase and her husband, Robert, all of Dover-Foxcroft; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; as well as, a very special friend, who has always been there for all of them, Roxanne Springer of Lee. He is also survived by three very special “girls,” his two black labs, Lady and Niki, and his yorkie, Sissy. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Gerrish Warren Center, Thayer Parkway, Dover-Foxcroft. After the service, friends and family are invited to stay until 5 p.m. to share memories and to celebrate Bert’s life. Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
