FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Albert W. Gaines, 78, died Jan. 14, 2006, at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Revere, Mass., the son of Albert and Theresa Gaines. He was employed by the American Can Company for 35 years. After retiring he worked for a hazardous waste company and a driver for The Pittsford Florist. He was also a member of the town of Perinton Conservation Board from 1987-1991 and a member of the Silver Foxes for several years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred (O’Brien) Gaines; son, Albert (Janet) of Farmington, N.Y.; daughter, Martha McRea of Cumberland; five nephews, Carl (Caroline) Morrison of Scarborough, Stephen (Carol) Gaines of Oklahoma, William Gaines of North Carolina, Dennis (Karen) Gaines of Texas, David (Yu Chen) Gaines of Texas; and several greatnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Collier; and brother, Leonard Gaines. Friends are welcome to call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location), 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport, N.Y. A Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the Church of the Resurrection, Fairport, N.Y.
