FRENCHVILLE – Gerard E. Tardiff, 74, died peacefully surrounded by his family Jan. 15, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born May 9, 1931, in St. Agatha, the son of Albert and Marian (Raymond) Tardif. He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus and had retired from Fraser Paper after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeannine (Michaud) Tardif of Frenchville; three sons and their wives, Ronald and Diane of Frenchville, Donald and Sonia of Madawaska and Jason and his wife, Michelle, of Frenchville; six grandchildren, Kirk, Bobby, Donna, Kelsie, Devin and Kyle; three brothers, Alverie of Frenchville, Maurice of St. Agatha and Robert of West Hartford, Conn.; and one sister, Ann Marie St. Peter of Fort Fairfield, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Valere, Philip, Sylvio and Lionel. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of services, at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the St. Luce Catholic Church, with the Rev. Philip Cyr, officiating. Burial will be in St. Luce Cemetery in the spring.
