EAGLE LAKE – Alcier Dube, 95, died Jan. 30, 2004, in Eagle Lake. He was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Eagle Lake, the son of Alsime and Maragrite (Rousseau) Dube. Alcier was a World War II veteran and belonged to the VFW Lozier-O’Grady Post No. 9609 of Fort Kent and the American Legion Soucy-Smart Post No. 176 of Eagle Lake of which he served as chaplain for 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a guide for Michaud Camps. He also served as a Scout Master. For several years, he was a carpenter by trade during that time doing a lot of work for the community of Eagle Lake. He was a foreman for Pinkham Lumber until his retirement at the age of 68. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marie Anna (Bouchard) Dube of Eagle Lake; two daughters, Louise and her husband, Clayton Dube, of Eagle Lake, Claire and her husband, Rick St. Peter, of Caribou; five grandchildren, Ben and his wife, Angela Adams, of Presque Isle, Ryan St. Peter of Caribou, Angela and her husband, Dave Eaton, of Corinth, Adam St. Peter and Kellie St. Peter, both of Caribou; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Eaton of Corinth; several nieces and nephews. In addition to both his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael Dube in 1978; two sisters, Yvonne Watts and Maria LeClaire; two brothers, Henry Bergeron and Belone Dube. Friends may call at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home in Fort Kent 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until time of departure for Eagle Lake on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with full military honors 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eagle Lake, with the Rev. Bill Labbe officiating. Spring burial will be May 21, 2004, in the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in Alcier’s memory to the St. Mary’s Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 249, Eagle Lake, ME 04739.
